Joint Fire Science Program
The Joint Fire Science Program (JFSP) was created to provide a scientific basis and rationale for implementing fuels management activities.
BLM Hollister Field Office entered into a JFSP project partnership with the National Park Service - Pinnacles National Monument, Amah Mutsun Tribal Band, California State Parks - Santa Cruz District, and University of California, Berkeley. The project is called "Exploring the Traditional Use of Fire in the Coastal Mountains of Central California" (Project ID 10-1-09-3):
