National Public Lands Day is a nationwide celebration where citizens can show their appreciation for public lands and parks, and lend a hand in improving their condition. On Saturday, October 22, 2011 on the Fort Ord Public Lands nearly 75 volunteers helped to seed and straw plant restoration sites, cleaned up recreation sites, removed noxious weeds, and collected native seed.
