Archaeology Month

Archaeology Month is part of a national program endorsed by the Society for American Archaeology to promote the preservation of our Nation's heritage.  California Archaeology Month is sponsored by the Society for California Archaeology and supported by the Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Forest Service, National Park Service and California State Parks.  California Archaeology Month is observed in October to integrate with California's Kindergarten - Grade 12 educational curriculum on Native American and California history.
