The unfortunate scene above is a common site on your public lands - cultivation of narcotics is only one example of how people mistreat the land.
Casual littering also pollutes the lands and water...please keep our lands clean and pick up your trash.
You can call 1-888-DFG-CALTIP (1-888-334-2258) 24-hours-a-day/7-days-a-week in California on any public lands to report the polluting or trashing of lands, water, plants, habitiat, or the poaching of wildlife. You can also visit the California Department of Fish and Game "Cal-Tip" web site for more information.

Fort Ord National Monument
The Fort Ord National Monument is recovering from it's legacy since the early 20th century as the Home of the Lightfighters U.S. Army Infantry - training our nation's soldiers in the latest small arms technology. This leagcy has left dangerous and dirty waste related to spent (and sometimes live) artillery on the land which must be cleaned up. As a designated "Superfund site" per the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), the former Fort Ord clean up is being done with the oversight of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and various California State Agencies.
