Cosumnes River Preserve - Habitat Restoration and Road Access Maintenance

Get out and Participate - National Public Lands Day 9-8-2012

In September 2012, more than 170,000 volunteers at over 2,000 sites throughout the United States are expected to volunteer to help restore the beauty and vitality of our public lands as part of the 19th annual National Public Lands Day.  At the Cosumnes River Preserve, volunteers will be doing habitat restoration and road access maintenance.

Date: Saturday, September 8, 2012 

Location: Cosumnes River Preserve Farm Center, 7300 Desmond Road in Galt, California.  Just up the road from the Visitor Center.

Time: meet at 8:30 a.m. to register at the Farm Center.  We will then carpool to our work sites.

Specifics about project:  Please wear closed-toes shoes, long pants and a hat.  A free lunch is planned for volunteers after the workday.

The event is coordinated by the National Environmental Education Foundation in partnership with eight federal land management agencies.  Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc. and Northrop Grumman sponsor National Public Lands Day.  Events will take place coast to coast from Kings Gap Environmental Education Center in Pennsylvania to Golden Gate National Recreation Area in California.
