A seagull flies over the California Coastal National Monument which stretches along the entire coast of California and extends 12 miles into the Pacific Ocean.  The Monument includes 20,000 rocks, islands, pinnacles and reefs.

National Public Lands Day: A National Environmental Education Foundation Program

Airport Mesa, Jacumba, CA

WHAT VOLUNTEER WILL DO:  Airport Mesa illegal dumping trash clean-up and renovation of the area due to target shooting.  BLM staff archaeologist will give a talk about archaeological resources in the area.

WHEN: September 26, 2009

WHERE:  Airport Mesa, five miles from Jacumba, California, in eastern San Diego County.
