A seagull flies over the California Coastal National Monument which stretches along the entire coast of California and extends 12 miles into the Pacific Ocean.  The Monument includes 20,000 rocks, islands, pinnacles and reefs.

The cost of trash:  $165,000.00
  

Assuming the level of trash collection remains the same as last season (2010/2011), this service will cost $165,000.00.  Based on a sliding scale, this cost will increase as the volume of trash increases; conversely, it will decrease as the volume decreases.
