Project Vitals

Proposed Location: Southwestern Imperial County, California, nine miles southwest of the city of El Centro

Technology: Photovoltaic

Electricity Production Capacity: Up to 20 megawatts

Acreage: 100 acres of public land, plus 2 acres of temporary disturbance.

Electrical Transmission Connection: The solar energy generating facility will connect to the adjacent Imperial Valley Substation via a buried 12.47-kilovolt transmission line

Status: The Ocotillo Sol project was approved on April 7, 2014.

Company's Expected Benefit:

  • The project would generate enough electricity to power 6,000 homes
