Project Vitals

Location: Imperial Valley, southwest of El Centro near the Mexican border.

Electricity Production Capacity: 139MW

Company: Campo Verde Solar, LLC

Acreage: 1,443 acres of private land and 17 acres of BLM Land

Status: Secretary Salazar Approves Transmission Line on 9/26/12

Electrical Transmission Connection: A 230kV leaves Campo Verde, crossing 1 mile of BLM land and interconnecting with the Imperial Valley Substation.

Company's Benefit:   

  • Produces enough electricity to power nearly 42,000 homes
  • Creates 250+ jobs during peak construction and 5-7 permanent jobs
  • Generates $17.5 million in local tax revenue over the life of the project
  • Generates roughly $239 million of positive impact to County economy
