Directions to reach Bizz Johnson Trail

From Reno:
Take Highway 395 North to Susanville, about 85 miles (Hwy. 395 becomes Hwy. 36 4 miles East of Susanville). Follow Main Street (Hwy 36) to the stop light at Weatherlow St.. Turn left on Weatherlow St. (which becomes Richmond Road) and follow 1/2 mile to Susanville Railroad Depot Trailhead and Visitor Center.

From Susanville:
From Main St. turn South on Weatherlow Street (becomes Richmond Road) and continue 1/2 mile to Susanville Railroad Depot Trailhead Visitor Center. Trail begins at the Depot.

From Westwood:
From the intersection of Hwy. 36 and County Road A-21, head North on A-21 three miles to County Road 101(McCoy Flat Rd.) (just before the railroad tracks). Follow County Road 101, 1/2 mile to Mason Station Trailhead. Ride through trailhead and follow path at kiosk 1/4 mile to Trail (abandoned railroad grade). Follow the trail East 25 miles to Susanville.

From Lassen Volcanic National Park:
Take Highway 36 to Westwood or Susanville.

You may also access the trail from Devil's Corral off Highway 36, about seven miles west of Susanville.

Goumaz Campground and Trailhead at the midpoint of the trail can be reached by Forest Service gravel roads from Hwy. 36 or Hwy. 44. We recommend acquiring a Lassen National Forest Map or a Topographic map, available from the Eagle Lake Field Office, before heading out.
