A seagull flies over the California Coastal National Monument which stretches along the entire coast of California and extends 12 miles into the Pacific Ocean.  The Monument includes 20,000 rocks, islands, pinnacles and reefs.

BM 2-2 located in the Bodie Hills
The location of BM 2-2 is located in theBodie Mountain allotment at at an elevation of 8,700 feet on a cold loamy slope ecological site with a 5 to 10 percent slope.  The key specie is Thurber needlegrass (Stipa thurberiana) in a Sagebrush (Artemisia tridenta) and Bitterbrush (Purshia tridentata) vegetation community type.
