Fire Emergencies and Closures

• Fire Restriction in effect for Bishop Field Office and Inyo National Forest - 7/3/2008
  
  1. It is prohibited to build, maintain, attend, or use any open fire, campfire, charcoal barbecue, or stove outside of fire rings or stoves provided within a designated developed recreation site, or a specifically posted campsite or area.  Portable stoves using gas, jelled petroleum or pressurized liquid fuel are exempt from this restriction when accompanied by a valid “Camp Fire Permit”. 43 CFR 9212.1(h)
  2. It is prohibited to smoke, except within an enclosed vehicle or building, or at a designated developed recreation site, or other designated areas. 43 CFR 9212.1(h)
  3. It is prohibited to weld, or operate acetylene or other torches with an open flame. 43 CFR 9212.1(h)
  4. It is prohibited to use any kind of explosive. 43 CFR 9212.1 (h).
