Goodale Creek Campground

Campground is tucked into the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Range below a volcanic rock flow. Campground looks east, out to the Inyo Mountains Range and Owens Valley. Climate is high desert (Elevation 4,000 ft): Spring and fall are ideal times for camping. Summers can be very hot and dry. Some trees and willows are scattered throughout the sites. Aberdeen, nearby, has a convenience store and café. Closest amenities (grocery, gas) are south in Independence (12 miles) or north, in Big Pine (15 miles).

$5.00/night per site, Long Term Visitor Area permits accepted.
Golden Age and Golden Access passes accepted for daily fee discounts.

Open:Open for the 2013 season.  Normal season of operation is second week of April through November 1st, weather permitting.

Restrictions:Horses and horse trailers prohibited in campground, dogs must be under the owners control at all times
Closest Town:Aberdeen - with convenience store and cafe.  Independence - (12 miles) south with gas and convenience store, Big Pine - 15 miles north, gas and grocery store.
Water:No potable water available.
Restrooms:3 Vault Toilets

Other Amenities:Campfire rings (bring your own wood), tables, lantern holders



Directions:

10 miles north of Independence on US Hwy 395, then 2 miles west on Aberdeen Road. Follow signs to campground.
