A seagull flies over the California Coastal National Monument which stretches along the entire coast of California and extends 12 miles into the Pacific Ocean.  The Monument includes 20,000 rocks, islands, pinnacles and reefs.

Pleasant Valley Pit, Directions

Map to the Pleasant Valley Pit Campground

From Bishop, California, take Highway 395 (north) towards Mammoth Lakes.  At the Pleasant Valley Road intersection, turn right and proceed approximately   (0.5 miles) until a gravel road is located on the left (west side of the road).  Turn left and continue up a dirt road until the Pleasant Valley Pit Campground.
