Project Vitals

Proposed Location: In San Bernardino County, California, about 37 miles east of the city of Barstow

Technology: Photovoltaic

Electricity Production Capacity: 663.6 megawatts

Company: Calico Solar, LLC (a subsidiary of K Road Power)

Acreage: 4,604 acres of public land

Status: A Notice of Intent to prepare a Supplemental Draft Environmental Impact Statement was published in Ocotober of 2011, which initiated the public scoping period.  Input from the public and stakeholders was received and now a Supplemental Draft Environmental Impact Statement is being prepared

Public Comment: A public comment period will follow issuance of the Supplemental Draft Environmental Impact Statement, which has not published yet

Electrical Transmission Connection: A 230-kilovolt transmission line will connect the on-site substation to the existing SCE Pisgah substation 0.09 miles outside of the Project site in the SCE transmission right-of-way

Company's Expected Benefit:

  • The project would generate enough electricity to power 200,000 homes
