A seagull flies over the California Coastal National Monument which stretches along the entire coast of California and extends 12 miles into the Pacific Ocean.  The Monument includes 20,000 rocks, islands, pinnacles and reefs.

Daggett Ridge Wind Energy Project

AES Wind Generation has applied to the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) for a right-of-way application to construct, operate, and maintain an energy generation facility on public lands in unincorporated San Bernardino County, Calif., southeast of Barstow and southwest of the town of Daggett. The wind energy project would generate up to 82.5 megawatts of electric energy.

The proposed project , including the construction of new roads, turbines, and other facilities, would be constructed on approximately 1,500 acres of land managed by the BLM and 380 acres of land owned by AES Wind Generation.
