Keepers Cottage - June 7th, 2015 (Sunday)
Piedras Blancas Light Station Association is sponsoring a fund-raising tour of the Former Keeper’s Cottage on Sunday, June 7th, 2015. Guides and enactors will be in period attire. Tour times are 1:00, 1:30, 2:00, 2:30, and 3:00 in the evening. Reservations are required. Call 805-927-3719 or go to www.piedrasblancas.org. Details about location and where to park will be given at the time reservations are made. A two night stay at the cottage will be raffled after the tour. You may purchase raffle tickets at www.piedrasblancas.org and you do not have to be present to win. Fee: $15.
The Keeper’s Cottage was constructed at the light station in 1905 and moved to Cambria in 1960, after the Coast Guard family quarters were constructed. It is currently used as a vacation rental. The owners have graciously agreed to allow the special tour on June 7th to benefit restoration of the Piedras Blancas Light Station.
National Lighthouse Day - August 8th, 2015 (Saturday)
- The next living history tour at the Piedras Blancas Light Station will be on Saturday, August 8th, in celebration of National Lighthouse Day. Guides will be in period attire and enactors will portray life at the light station in the 1890s. Meet at the former Piedras Blancas Motel by 9:45. The National Lighthouse Day tour is offered at the regular tour fees of $10 for adults, $5 for ages 6-17, and no fee for ages 5 and under.
