Current Geologic Research Proposals
A permanent GPS station was installed near the Carrizo Plain Visitor Center. This station is part of the Southern California Integrated GPS Network. It is funded jointly by the Southern California Earthquake Survey, the US Geological Survey, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, Institute of Geophysics and planetary physics. The Southern California Earthquake Center (SCEC) is a community of scientists and specialists who actively coordinate research on earthquake hazards at nine core Institutions, and communicate earthquake information to the public. SCEC is a National Science Foundation (NSF) Science and Technology Center and is co-funded by the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
