The South Sierra area extends from the foothills to the crest of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. All four of the Bakersfield Office’s Special Recreation Management Areas are here, as well as the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail and several Wilderness Areas. The South Sierra area offers a variety of recreation opportunities, with activities and sites that attract people with many interests and capabilities.
