Road Section Closed

This map shows the Chimney Peak Back Country Byway located in the Sierra Nevada mountains in Tulare County, California. It shows the Byway and the section of it that is closed because the road is washed out. The map cannot be made Section 508 compliant. For assistance, contact the Bakersfield Field Office at (661)391-6000 and refer to the Recreation Website map.

The road is closed between Rockhouse Basin Trailhead and Chimney Peak. The closed road is washed out and impassible. The road is open from the Lamont Meadows turnoff to the Rockhouse Basin Trailhead.
