Bakersfield Field Office

BLM Oil and Gas Operator Seminar

BLM is planning its fifth annual daylong seminar for all Federal Operators on May 24, at Aera Energy’s Bakersfield Office located at 10000 Ming Ave. The purpose of the seminar is to provide an update for federal operators on their responsibilities on federal leases and information on permitting, leasing, split estate issues, assignments/transfers, bonding, field operations, BLM’s inspection, idle well and royalty rate reduction programs and many other items of importance.

In response to favorable feedback from a number of operators, we are once again conducting a half day seminar that will be more oriented towards field personnel. This year, the field seminar will be hosted by Occidental of Elk Hills at their Elk Hills office on Highway 119. If your work doesn’t deal with leasing, permitting, or royalty issues, this will save you both time - and money! Details are provided on the attached agenda.

Cost of the seminar will be $45 on May 24, or $30 for the half day seminar on May 22, which includes all handouts, snacks, and lunch. Both seminars begin at 8:30 a.m. The seminar on May 24 will be finished by 3:20 p.m., after which BLM staff will remain to discuss and answer questions one-on-one in a more informal setting. The seminar on May 22 will be over by noon, after which lunch will be provided. To confirm your reservation, please send your check with a list of those who will attend each seminar by May 7, 2007.

This program will benefit everyone who operates on BLM land or is involved in any way in the permit process, including engineers, landmen, drilling personnel, production accountants, permit technicians, field technicians, and contractors. BLM staff will be present to answer questions during breaks and afterwards. We strongly encourage all operators and contractors who work on BLM projects to attend.

Seating may be limited, so register early. If there are others in your company who you think would benefit from either one of these seminars, please pass this invitation on. Hope to see you there!
