King Range National Conservation Area- Wilderness

Congress passed the Northern California Coastal Wild Heritage Wilderness Act on October 17,2006.  The act designated 42,585 acres of the King Range National Conservation Area as Wilderness.

The BLM is in the early stages of preparing a Wilderness Management Plan to ensure that the area's values are protected, and uses are managed in conformance with the requirements of the new legislation.
