King Range National Conservation Area: Fire Restrictions

Fire Restrictions: None

Effective Wednesday October 15, 2014 for the King Range National Conservation Area.

With cool, moist fall weather taking hold on the North Coast, fire restrictions are lifted. This means that campfires can be used outside of developed campgrounds and recreation sites, such as the Lost Coast Trail. Campfire permits are required and can be obtained at any trailhead.

"Even though we have lifted fire restrictions, people still need to be careful with fire," said Tim Jones, fire management officer for the BLM in Arcata. "Fires should never be used on windy days, and it is imperative that campers fully extinguish campfires before leaving a campsite."
