General Information
  • You can camp almost anywhere in the Alturas Resource Area.  There is one established campground, Pit River.
  • If you choose to stay outside of an established campground, you will need a campfire permit which is available at any BLM office.
  • Please be careful: leave your area cleaner than you found it and don't camp in or around wet meadows, springs or creeks. The maximum length of stay is 14 days.  Enjoy your camping!
