Alturas Field Office
Alturas Field Office manages 503,460 acres of public land in northern California. The Field Office includes several large blocks of public land; however, much of the rest of the public land is located in scattered parcels resulting in a variety of management opportunities. Key resources managed in the Alturas Field Office include: wildlife habitat, livestock grazing, archaeological and historical sites, Wilderness Study Areas, threatened and endangered species, mining activity, noxious weeds and the Pit River Campground.
