Description: Perennial herb 1-3.3 feet (3-10dm) tall, with non-woody parts covered with whitish or bluish, waxy or powdery film. The lower leaves are fleshy, oblanceolate to obovate, smooth edged, and 1 1/8 - 4 inches (3-10cm) long. The upper leaves are sometimes lobed. Inflorescence contain 12-24 radiate heads, with 13-21 green-tipped phyllaries, 1/4 inch (5-6mm) tall. Heads contain 5-8 ray flowers with yellow to deep orange petals, 1/4 inch (5-7mm) long. Disk flowers number less than 40. Fruit are achenes.

Distribution:

Habitat: Serpentine seeps. Elevation 832 - 1232 feet.

Flowering Period: Blooms June - July.
