Description: Perennial, soft and hairy sub-shrub, 5/8 - 8 inches (13-20cm) tall. Leaves ovate with a pointed tip, and smooth edged, or with 1-3 short pointed lobes. Leaves 1/2 - 7/8 inches (12-22mm) long, and 1/8 - 3/8 inches (4-10mm) wide. Leaf stem is 1/8 - 1/4 inch (3-6mm) long. Inflorescence contain 1-3 discoid heads, with stems 3/8 - 3/4 inches (1-2cm) long. The combined bracts are bell-shaped, and 1/4 inch (5-7mm) in diameter. Each discoid head contains 30-75 disk flowers, with yellow corolla 3/16 inch (4-5mm) long. Fruit are 1/8 inch (3-3.5mm) long achenes.
Distribution:
Habitat: Dry, rocky slopes. Elevation 5440 - 8320 feet.
Flowering Period: Blooms June.
