Description: Annual herb 4 - 8 inches (1-2dm) tall, with minute hairs. Leaves 3/8 - 1 1/8 inches (1-3cm) long. Inflorescence is a head, with a funnel-form, purple-white corolla, 3/8 inch (10mm) long, and 4-5 corolla lobes, each 1/8 inch (2.5mm) long. The calyx is 1/4 - 3/8 inches (7-10mm) long, and hairy. The fruit is a reversed, pear-shaped capsule, with 1 seed.
Distribution:
Habitat: Depressions in clay or gravelly loam.
Flowering Period: Blooms April - July.
