Description: Perennial, rhizomatous herb, less than 2 feet (6dm) tall, with dense, long hairs. Leaves narrowly ovate, thick, leathery, whitish, and often folded. Inflorescence are heads, less than 5/8 inch (15mm) wide. The calyx are 5-lobed and hairy, and the petals are lavender.
Distribution:
Habitat: Serpentine barrens, chaparral. Elevation 1600 - 2928 feet.
Flowering Period: Blooms June - July.
