Description: Annual hairy herb, 1 1/8 - 6 inches (3-15cm) tall. Leaves pear-shaped, 5/8 - 1 3/4 inches (1.5-4.5cm) long. Corollas are yellow with spreading petals, and a long tube. Petal bases have 1 large maroon-purple blotch. The calyx are hairy, purplish, and 1/8 - 1/4 inch (3.5-6mm) long. The flower stems are 3/8 - 2 inches (1-5cm) long. Fruit are 1/8 - 1/4 inch (4-6mm) long.
Distribution: Kaweah and Kings River drainages.
Habitat: Marble crevices. Elevation 1168 - 4160 feet.
Flowering Period: Blooms March - May.
