Description: Annual herb 3/8 -20 inches (1-50cm) tall. Leaves less than 2 3/8 inches (6cm) long, linear to oblanceolate, with the lower leaves lobed. Inflorescence are radiate heads, with 6-15 ray flowers, and 16-108 disk flowers. Rays are 1/8 -1/2 inches (3-14mm) long, and yellow with white tips. Petals are 1/8 - 3/16 inches (3.5 - 5mm) long. Involucres are urn-shaped, with phyllaries (bracts) 1/4 - 3/8 inches (5-9mm) long. Fruit are achenes, 1/8 inch (2.5[4mm) long.
Distribution:
Habitat: Alkaline clay soils. Elevation 480 - 3504 feet.
Flowering Period: Blooms March - April.
