Description: Perennial herb which hangs in clumps. Stems 4 - 8 inches (10-20cm) long. Basal leaves are 2 -       4 3/4 inches (5-12cm) long, with 2-3 leaflets 1/4 - 3/4 inches (5-20mm) long on each side of leaf. Inflorescence is a cyme with few to many flowers. Flowers are 1/4 - 3/8 inches (5-10 mm) wide, with 5 sepals and 5 petals. Petals are yellow, oblanceolate shaped (reversed spear-shape), and 1/8 inch (2-3mm) long. Stalks of the flowers are 1/4 - 1 1/8 inch (5-30mm) long. Fruit is an achene, 1/16 inch (1.5-2mm) long.

Distribution:

Habitat: Granite crevices, pinyon juniper woodland. Elevation 4480 - 6720 feet.

Flowering Period: Blooms June - October.
