Description: Annual white-woolly plant, 3/8 - 1 inch (1-2.5cm) tall. Leaves 1/8 - 3/8 inches (3-10mm) long, spoon to wedge-shaped with a sharp point at tip, and smooth edged or 2-3 lobed. Inflorescence are heads placed singly at ends of branches, with about 3 disk flowers. Petals are 1/16 inch (around 2mm) long. Fruit is an achene, 1/16 - 1/8 inch (2-2.5mm) long, with stiff, straight, sharp hairs.
Distribution:
Habitat: Creosote bush scrub. Sandy or rocky places. Elevation 1600 - 3027 feet
Flowering Period: Blooms April - May.
