Description: Perennial rhizomatous herb, 2-6 inches tall. Leaves mostly in rosettes on low stems. Leaves elliptic to round, 1/8 - 3/8 inches (4-10mm) long, finely shedding above, and wooly below. Inflorescence is umbel-like, with leaf-like bracts. The flowers have involucres with 6-8 short lobes, and are 1/8 - 1/4 inches (3-6mm) long. Petals are pale yellow to reddish color, 1/8 - 1/4 inches (4-6mm) long, and attached to a stalk-like base. The fruit is 1/4 inch (4.5-5mm) long.

Distribution:

Habitat: Serpentine outcrops. Elevation 960 - 6736 feet.

Flowering Period: Blooms June - September.
