Description: Annual herb 3/4 - 10 inches (2-25cm) high. Leaves linear, 3/4 - 1 1/2 inches (2-4cm) long, woolly, smooth-edged, or with 2 lobes at the base. Inflorescence are 2-8 flowered heads. Flowers are bright yellow with flat-topped petals, 1/4 inch (5-6mm) long, and a slender, 1/8 inch (3mm) long tube.
Distribution:
Habitat: Dry slopes. Sandy or gravelly. Elevation 928 - 3200 feet.
Flowering Period: Blooms May - June.
