Description: Annual herb 4 - 8 inches (1-2dm) high, with stems 1 1/8 - 6 inches (3-15cm) tall. Leaves very narrow with smooth edges, or 2-lobed, 3/16 - 1 inch (5-25mm) long. Inflorescence are heads, with 1-3 flowers. Flowers are white, with long tubes, 1/8 inch (2-3mm) long, and with petals flattened outward, 1/8 inch (2-3mm) long. Fruit is an oblong to elliptic-shaped capsule, 1/8 inch (3mm) long.
Distribution:
Habitat: Drying grassy areas, rolling plains. Elevation 160 - 2928 feet.
Flowering Period: Blooms March - July.
