Description: Annual herb with grayish, hairy stems, 1 1/8 - 10 inches (3-25cm) long. Leaves basal, oblanceolate, and 3/4 - 1 1/2 inches (2-4cm) long. Inflorescence has an urn-shaped involucre with downy hairs, containing a group of 6 bracts, and a tube 1/8 inch (2-3mm) long. The perianth is 1/8 inch (3.5-4mm) long, with the outer lobes white and slightly notched, and the inner lobes yellow and jagged. The fruit is a grayish achene, 1/16 inch (1.5-2mm) long. 

Distribution:

Habitat: Dry slopes, chaparral, dry woodland. Elevation 640 - 3312 feet.

Flowering Period: Blooms May - July.
