Description: Evergreen shrub that lies flat on the ground, and is less than 9-6 feet (3 meters) wide. Twigs have very small hairs, and are red-brown, then become gray-brown. Leaves are green all year long, are oblanceolate, dull green on the upper surface, smooth edged or toothed near the tip, and  3/8 inch (1cm) long. The inflorescence is raceme-like and short, with white, blue tinged flowers. The fruit are capsules with stubby horns, generally 1/4 inch (5mm) long.

Distribution:

Habitat: Dry, stony soils from serpentine or similar rocks. Elevation 832 - 2016 feet.

Flowering Period: Blooms May - June.
