Description: Perennial herb with a slender stem, growing horizontally, then upward, 4 - 14 inches (1-3.5dm) long. Leaves 1 - 2 1/2 inches (2.5-6.5cm) long, with 9-7 elliptic leaflets 1/8 - 3/8 inches (2-10mm) long. Inflorescence is a raceme with 2-13 flowers. Petals are cream colored, and the largest petal, the banner, is 3/8 inch (9-9.8mm) long. The fruit is narrow, papery, and hairy, 1/2 - 1 1/4 inches (13-31mm) long, and 1/8 inch (3-4mm) wide.  

Distribution:

Habitat: Granitic sand in Jeffrey-pine forest. Elevation 6048 - 6288 feet.

Flowering Period: Blooms June - July.
