Description: Perennial herb with soft hairs and loosely matted stems, 8-12 inches (2-3dm) long. Leaves 1-2 inches (2.5-5cm) long, with 7-19 crowded, obovate leaflets, 1/8 - 3/8 inches (3-10mm) long. Inflorescence are racemes with 7-25 flowers. Petals are reddish lilac, with a banner 3/8 inches (9-10mm) long. Fruit are abruptly bent, 1/2 - 1 inch (12-24mm) long, 1/4 - 3/8 inches (5-8mm) wide, and fleshy early, then becoming leathery.

Distribution:

Habitat: Stabilized sand dunes. Elevation 6480 - 6640 feet.

Flowering Period: Blooms May - June.
