Distribution: Mono County, CA

Habitat: Large, open pumice flats in loose sandy or gravelly soil at elevations of 6500-7500 feet (2000-2600 m).

Flowering Period: June-July

Similar Plants: It is unlikely that this species would be confused with Astragalus andersonii, a similar but coarser plant with a tufted growth habit, but which lacks the well developed underground stems that Astragalus monoensis has.
