Description: Perennial, stoleniferous herb, 1 - 2.6 feet (3-8dm) tall. Lower leaf blades 4 - 6 3/8 inches (10-16cm) long, 1/16 inch (1-2mm) wide, and flat. Lower leaf sheaths with finely matted hairs. Ligules 1/8 - 1/4 inch (4-6mm) long. Inflorescence are panicle-like. Spikelets contain glumes 1/8 inch (2-3mm) long, and lemmas 1/16 inch (1.5-2mm) long, with bent awns 1/8 inch (<2.5mm) long.
Distribution:
Habitat: Dry, sandy soils, open chaparral, oak woodland.
Flowering Period: Blooms April - July.
