Klusman given appreciation award
News.bytes Extra - Issue 157
| Don Klusman, left, chairman
of the BLM's Northwest California Resource Advisory Council, receives an
appreciation award from Dave Cooper, manager of the Black Rock Desert-High
Rock Canyon Emigrant Trails National Conservation Area. Klusman was recognized
for his leadership of a 26-member, two-RAC subcommittee that helped the
BLM's Winnemucca (Nevada) and Surprise (California) field offices develop
a management plan for the NCA. The subcommittee, comprised of members of
the Northeast California RAC, the Sierra Front/Northwestern Great Basin
RAC and numerous stakeholders, worked as part of the BLM planning team to
develop a range of management alternatives, then to craft a final management
plan. Klusman, initially named to the group to represent off highway vehicle
interests, was commended for helping to keep the diverse group focused on
management plan development. |
