Vicki Wood has come to us originally from Texas -- she was born and raised in Lubbock. She has joined us in El Centro as our new Field Manager.
In her new position she will be providing leadership for the team and will have an open door policy for brainstorming new ideas and problem solving. Her varied background facilitates thinking outside the box and she is open to new ways of doing things. Vicki is community-oriented and is looking forward to continuing to build partnerships with city, county, state, federal, and other organizations. Very much a people person, she enjoys helping people succeed.
Throughout her career with the Bureau of Land Management she has helped numerous SCEP students transition successfully to permanent positions. Vicki has also enjoyed guiding people towards successful transitions within the Bureau.
Vicki comes to us with a Masters degree in Education from Wayland Baptist University in Texas, and a B.A. from Texas Tech. She started with the federal government in 1992 with the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Research Service and then transitioned to the BLM, moving from the administrative side of the business to the resources side.
In 2001, Vicki served as an administrative officer in Miles City, Montana. In 2003 she became the Associate Field Manager in Winnemucca, Nevada and is now coming to El Centro as the Field Manager.
Vicki and her husband George have two college-aged daughters.
Welcome to California, Vicki.
