IT Specialist
Alturas Field Office

"I constantly strive to improve myself or my life.  I enjoy learning new things, whether for intellectual stimulation or just plain fun!"

Lori originally hails from Richmond, California and is currently working in the BLM Alturas Field Office.  She is also a resident of Alturas.  Lori provides Information Technology services to the Alturas and Surprise Field Offices as theSystem Administrator - that's computer-related, to us laypersons. In addition, she is the Geographic Information Systems Coordinator and services the Alturas Field Office.  Lori is a certified Project Manager and currently works on a state technology project involving every office in California.  Before coming to her current position, Lori served as a Civil Engineer Technician and IT Specialist at the Redding Field Office.

With a B.S. in Natural Resources from the California State University at Chico and an A.A. in Civil Engineering Technology from Shasta Community College in Redding, California - as well as more than 13 years at BLM - Lori brings a wealth of experience to her position.  She is currently pursuing her Masters Degree in Information Systems Security.

Lori is a member of Toastmasters International.  Lori says, "I constantly strive to improve myself or my life.  I enjoy learning new things, whether for intellectual stimulation or just plain fun!"

Lori is single and close to her two sisters, who live across the country.  This results in a lot of traveling - which Lori enjoys - to visit with them.  When Lori is looking to refuel she may pick up some quilting, or she may grab her paintbrush.  However, before you start to think that she is an arts-and-crafts kind of woman look around outside - she might as easily be running, swimming or camping in and around her beautiful "neck of the woods."

Lori currently trains for the "Bizz Johnson Trail Marathon" in Susanville, where she plans to enter the Half-Marathon.  We wish her the best of luck and look forward to the event on October 10, 2004!!  Good luck Lori and have tons of fun!!
