"I am truly appreciative of the opportunities I have been given in the last two years."

Sharlene Mendez plays an important role processing personnel actions and assisting employees with questions on pay, leave and other benefits.  She also travels to field offices to conduct new employee information sessions.

Sharlene says she is competitive and loves to be challenged.  "My experience with BLM has been the most positive growth and learning experience in my federal career,"  she says.

Sharlene previously processed payroll at the National Business Center in Denver, where she is from.  (Yes, in a location of rabid Raiders fanatics and 49er devotees, she is an avid Broncos fan). Prior to that, she worked for the Department of Veteran Affairs.

She started out pursuing an education in the restaurant and resort management field at Colorado State University but, after working in the industry, she found she didn't like working every holiday and weekend.

Sharlene enjoys connecting with people at The Gathering, a young adult ministry in Roseville.  She also leads a women's Bible study and serves on mission trips.  She loves to travel and play volleyball.
