Scott Swanson started in a law enforcement with the U.S. Border Patrol in 2002.  He came to BLM in  2006 and patrols the Glamis Dunes recreation area.

A Southwest native from Benson, Arizona, he played baseball for Arizona State, playing on the college championship team in 1987.  Scott left the desert regions for chilly South Dakota where he received  a social science bachelor's degree from Mount Marty College in Yankton.  He was also in the Reserve Officer Training Corps at the University of South Dakota and was a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army serving in the 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood, Texas, obtaining the rank of 1st Leutenant.

Scott loves spending time with his wife and two children.  They are active in their church and enjoy traveling to the beach in San Diego from their home in Yuma, Arizona for a day of boogie boarding.   Besides watching his kids in their many activites in Yuma, Arizona where they live, Scott stays active playing golf, softball and hunting.
