Joy Gipson-Taylor manages the alternative dispute resolution and diversity porgrams in the Equal Employment Opportunity office for BLM in California. Before joining BLM in the EEO office, Joy worked in recruitment for the U.S. Forest Service for 19 months. And prior to that, Joy worked in various positions for the Corps of Engineers, where she has spent most of her 23 year federal career. While with the Corps, she was cartographic technician, civil engineer technician, real estate specialist and EEO specialist. Her collateral duty assignement as the special emphasis program manager and recruitment coordinator with the Corps sparked her desire to work in EEO.
Joy has a degree in business administration from California State University-Sacramento. Her most interesting accomplishment was becoming the Nebraska state Hoola Hoop champion in 1969.
Joy is originally from Colorado but moved to Sacramento in 1972. She and her husband have been married for 26 years and have three children.
