BLM Seeks Nominations for Carrizo Plain Advisory Committee Nominations are being sought for a local advisory committee on the Carrizo Plain National Monument. The committee advises the Secretary of the Interior and the Bureau of Land Management on resource management issues at the monument which sits on the border between San Luis Obispo and Kern counties. Nominations are open for the nine member committee in the following categories:
Current members, appointed in 2002, are encouraged to apply for another 3-year term. Reappointment of current members will be strongly considered. However, anyone may submit a nomination, which should include a completed nomination form, letters of recommendation from the interests which the nominee seeks to represent, and any other information that would support the qualifications of the nominee. Nominations must be submitted by December 9, 2005, to Bureau of Land Management, Bakersfield Field Office, 3801 Pegasus Drive, Bakersfield, CA 93308. Members serve without compensation, but will be reimbursed for travel and per diem expenses at current federal rates.
