BLM, E CENTER TO COMPLETE JACK OF HEARTS ROAD PROJECT

Jack of Hearts Road, about seven miles west of Branscomb, will be closed from Wednesday, Sept. 7 through Friday, Sept. 9, for completion of a bridge project at Dark Canyon Creek.

The Bureau of Land Management and the E Center will cooperate on the work that includes removal of a large culvert and construction of a bridge. The project is designed to remove a barrier to fish migration.

Brad Job, a BLM civil engineer, said the project is part of a BLM program to enhance habitat for salmon and steelhead on public lands throughout the Pacific Northwest.

The E Center, a non profit organization based in Ukiah is working with BLM to complete fish habitat improvements in Mendocino County.

Questions should be addressed to Job at the BLM Arcata Field Office, (707) 825-2336, or sent via email to ljob@ca.blm.gov.
